Job summary

First Round is seeking an embedded founding GTM to work across 3–5 portfolio companies, acting as the first outbound hire to define ICPs, craft outbound strategies, and launch campaigns for early-stage startups.

You will manage multiple engagements, iterate on messaging, and maintain CRM hygiene while coordinating handoffs as companies hire their own BDR/AE teams, in a hybrid SF or NY office. This role blends founder-level GTM exposure with fast-paced execution.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in outbound/BDR motions at a startup
• Comfort with ambiguity and rapid iteration
• Know how to pick the right channel and messaging to drive conversion
• Extreme autonomy and urgency to move from ICP to campaign launch quickly
• Fluency in AI-native prospecting and enrichment workflows
• Proficiency with modern outreach tools (Claude, Clay, LinkedIn Navigator, etc.)
• Strong written communication and ability to tailor voice for multiple ICPs

Responsibilities

• Serve as the embedded founding GTM for 3–5 portfolio companies simultaneously
• Define ICP with founders and build/refine target lists
• Launch multi-channel outbound (email, LinkedIn, phone) under each brand
• Write and iterate ICP-specific messaging and cadences
• Maintain CRM/tracker hygiene and report weekly metrics by company
• Balance 3–5 engagements and shift focus to where pipeline needs it
• Hand off playbooks to new BDRs when a company hires its own team
