Job summary

Carter Machinery, Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking an Email and Lifecycle Specialist to own the email channel end-to-end, from strategy and segmentation to deployment and reporting.

You will collaborate across teams to build automated journeys, drive deliverability, and ensure campaigns are mobile-first and on-brand. You will also pioneer the SMS program, manage the digital asset library, and coordinate with stakeholders to optimize lifecycle marketing across Carter’s lines of business.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of email marketing experience.
• Experience with marketing automation platforms and segmentation/automation workflows.
• Strong knowledge of email best practices, deliverability, list management, compliance, responsive design, and A/B testing.
• Ability to interpret GA4 and analytics and turn data into actions.
• Excellent organization and calendar management for concurrent campaigns.
• Collaborative cross-team partner, able to recommend strategic changes.
• Bonus: SMS marketing, digital asset management experience.

Responsibilities

• Own email channel end to end: strategy, calendar, segmentation, build, QA, deployment, and reporting.
• Develop audience segmentation and targeting strategies for Carter’s lines of business.
• Build and manage automated journeys and workflows (nurture, lifecycle, triggered, and transactional).
• Own email design and templates, ensure on-brand and mobile-first.
• Manage list health, deliverability, compliance (CAN-SPAM), sender reputation.
• Run testing program and turn results into improvements.
• Own email performance reporting rhythm and insights for planning.
• Own SMS program from ground up and cross-channel integration.
• Maintain taxonomy and metadata for digital asset library (Bynder).
• Coordinate with team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals.
