Job summary

Carter Machinery Company, Inc. in Richmond, Virginia is seeking an Email and Lifecycle Specialist to lead our email and SMS programs across channels. This role focuses on strategy, segmentation, automated journeys, and reporting to optimize customer engagement and revenue.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of email marketing experience.
• Experience with a marketing automation platform and ownership of strategy and execution.
• Strong grasp of email best practices: deliverability, list management, compliance, responsive design, and A/B testing.
• Comfort interpreting performance data (GA4, analytics) and turning it into action.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail with calendar management.
• Ability to partner across teams and advocate strategic changes.
• Bonus: SMS marketing, Bynder, UTM architecture, or B2B/dealer marketing experience.

Responsibilities

• Own email channel end-to-end: strategy, roadmap, calendar, segmentation, build, QA, deployment, and reporting.
• Develop audience segmentation and targeting strategies across Carter’s lines of business.
• Build and manage automated journeys and workflows (nurture, lifecycle, triggered, transactional).
• Own email design and template standards in partnership with creative, ensuring on-brand, mobile-first sends.
• Manage list health, deliverability, compliance (CAN-SPAM), and sender reputation.
• Run testing program (subject lines, content, CTAs, send timing) and translate results into improvements.
• Own email performance reporting: opens, clicks, conversions, revenue impact; feed insights into planning.
• Own SMS channel as it launches, platform selection input, opt-in/compliance, audience strategy.
• Develop Bynder taxonomy; maintain asset library structure and tagging.
• Support Continuous Improvement goals; perform other duties as assigned.
• Collaborate with program managers and teams to drive results.
