Appian is seeking a Senior Manager, Solutions Consulting to lead a top-tier pre-sales engineering team responsible for architecting sophisticated solutions and delivering high-impact demonstrations for enterprise accounts. You will shape system integration strategies, influence roadmaps, and partner with sales leadership to accelerate bookings.

Based in McLean, VA, this on-site role requires 7+ years in solutions consulting, 3+ years of leadership, and up to 70% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/engineering/business/IS or related field; equivalent experience not accepted.
• 7+ years in solutions consulting, pre-sales engineering, or technical architecture in enterprise software.
• 3+ years leading technical contributors or pre-sales teams.
• Experience under a formal sales incentive plan tied to revenue/bookings.
• Expert in system integration design and enterprise architecture patterns.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% to customer locations and events.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and evaluate a high-performing team of 3–6 pre-sales engineers.
• Oversee scoping, design, and execution of tailored technical sales demos and POC/POV.
• Collaborate with Account Executives on qualification and territory strategy.
• Architect customer installation models and integration plans.
• Influence product direction with cross-functional teams.
• Evangelize the Appian platform at executive briefings and events.
