Job summary

Health & Human Services Comm in Texas is seeking an Eligibility Advisor I - Temporary to determine financial eligibility for SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid programs from applicants and recipients in a busy AES unit. The role includes data entry, benefit computation, and adherence to regulatory timelines.

The position is temporary, ending 08/31/2027, with potential transfer to a regular vacancy. Strong communication, organization, and multitasking are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 60 semester or 90 quarter hours preferred.
• One year of customer service experience with public contact.
• Experience interviewing clients is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility for public assistance programs.
• Evaluate data and enter information into a computer-based eligibility system.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determination.
• Process work per state and federal regulations and procedures.
• May work overtime and weekends as required.
