ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education in Illinois seeks a Special Education Teacher to serve elementary students within our alternative education program. You will design personalized learning experiences, implement IEPs, and collaborate with a supportive team to drive student growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or related field.
• IL professional educator credential (PEL) in progress or active.
• IL learning behavior specialist (LBS1) credential in progress or active.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for elementary students with IEPs.
• Deliver targeted instruction and create lesson plans aligned to standards.
• Collaborate in co-teaching environments to meet IEP goals.
• Track progress and maintain student files and reports.
• Differentiate content and guide staff on differentiation methods.
• Utilize educational software and instructional technology.
• Develop and implement IEPs, goals, and interventions.
• Maintain organized, safe, welcoming classrooms.
