ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education seeks a Special Education Teacher for our Elementary School learning center. Lead instructional planning for students with IEPs, delivering differentiated instruction using technology and cooperative teaching methods to support diverse learners.

The role emphasizes PBIS implementation, progress tracking, family collaboration, and ongoing professional growth within a dynamic, opportunity-rich environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or closely related field.
• IL professional educator (PEL) credential in process or obtained.
• IL learning behavior specialist (LBS1) credential in process or obtained.
• Crisis management training certification or ability to obtain it.
• Experience with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction in alternative/special education or behavioral health settings.
• Experience with IEPs and special education services/compliance.

Responsabilités

• Lead instructional process for Elementary School students with IEPs, designing personalized learning experiences.
• Deliver targeted instruction using innovative curriculum resources and educational software.
• Create comprehensive lesson plans and schedules aligned to standards.
• Maintain organized student records and document progress and reports.
• Differentiate instruction in co-teaching environments to meet IEP goals.
• Modify curricula to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Utilize varied instructional methods and technologies to engage students.
• Manage caseloads, develop and implement IEPs, goals and interventions.
• Prepare daily lesson plans and gather instructional materials.
• Maintain safe, organized classroom environments and manage supplies.
