Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education in Illinois seeks a Special Education Teacher for our elementary learning center. You will design personalized learning experiences for students with IEPs, deliver targeted instruction, and collaborate with staff to support diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or related field
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining IL PEL credential
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining IL LBS1 credential
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification
• Experience with curriculum development and differentiation in alternative/special education settings
• Experience with IEPs and students with learning disabilities or behavioral needs
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to respond calmly in emergencies and make independent decisions
• Proficiency with instructional technology and basic office equipment

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for elementary students with IEPs
• Deliver targeted instruction with differentiated approaches
• Collaborate with staff to design personalized lesson plans
• Implement PBIS strategies and classroom management
• Track progress and document student achievements
• Develop and implement IEP goals and interventions
• Utilize educational software and resources to support learning
• Maintain safe, organized, and engaging learning environments
• Engage families and contribute to school-wide initiatives
