Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking a Special Education Teacher for our Elementary program in an alternative education environment. The role focuses on delivering individualized instruction to students with IEPs, using innovative materials and technology to meet diverse learning needs.

You will lead instructional planning, participate in co-teaching, and collaborate with staff to create engaging, standards-aligned lessons while maintaining PBIS strategies and detailed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, special education or a closely related field of study.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL professional educator (PEL) credential.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining an IL learning behavior specialist (LBS1) credential.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certification in crisis management training.
• Prior experience in curriculum development, differentiation and instruction; preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted instruction and design personalized learning experiences for elementary students with IEPs.
• Develop comprehensive lesson plans and schedules aligned with state and school standards.
• Differentiate instruction and collaborate in co-teaching environments to meet IEP goals.
• Implement PBIS strategies and maintain progress reports on student achievement.
• Create and modify curricular content to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
