ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, a ChanceLight company, is seeking a Special Education Teacher to lead instructional processes for elementary students with IEPs in an alternative education setting. The role builds personalized learning experiences and integrates curriculum resources and educational software to support diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or related field.
• Licensed IL professional educator (PEL) credential in process or obtained.
• Licensed IL learning behavior specialist (LBS1) credential in process or obtained.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.
• Experience with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction.

Responsabilités

• Create an inclusive, collaborative learning environment with students, families, colleagues and leaders.
• Establish a classroom climate focused on PBIS, respect and clear expectations.
• Implement PBIS strategies, reinforce behavior expectations and appropriate consequences.
• Track progress, maintain student files and generate detailed achievement reports.
• Deliver differentiated, targeted instruction individually or in co-teaching settings to meet IEP goals.
• Adapt curricula and instructional approaches to diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Utilize varied instructional methods and educational software to engage students.
• Manage caseloads, develop and implement IEPs, goals and interventions.
• Prepare detailed daily lesson plans and organize materials to support objectives.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming classroom and organized environment for all students.
• Stay current on evidence-based practices in special education and respond to feedback.
• Support school community with additional duties to help program success.
