Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher for an Elementary School learning center. The role focuses on delivering personalized IEP-based instruction, leveraging innovative resources and software, and planning lessons aligned with state standards.

The candidate will collaborate in inclusive settings, manage a caseload, and develop progress reports while upholding PBIS and safety protocols in a dynamic educational environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or closely related field.
• Licensed currently or in process of obtaining IL PEL credential.
• Licensed currently or in process of obtaining IL SSE or LBS1 credential.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for Elementary School students with IEPs, designing personalized learning experiences.
• Deliver targeted instruction and integrate educational software and innovative curriculum resources.
• Create comprehensive lesson plans and schedules aligned to standards.
• Deliver differentiated instruction in co-teaching environments to meet IEP goals.
• Document student progress and generate reports detailing achievements.
• Adapt curricula to diverse learning styles and provide guidance on differentiation methods.
• Maintain PBIS strategies and foster a collaborative classroom climate.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

IL professional educator credential (PEL)

IL state SSE or Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) credential
