Job summary

Credit Union of Denver in Lakewood, CO seeks a Lead Payments Operations Manager to oversee daily electronic payment processing and guide the Electronic Payments Specialists. You will drive operational excellence and ensure accurate, secure handling of ACH, wires, checks, ATM, bill pay, P2P, and related channels.

You will lead a team, foster development, and partner with IT and vendors to implement new payment capabilities while maintaining strong controls and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in electronic payments or financial services
• Experience with ACH, wires, checks, ATM, bill pay, P2P/mobile, or remote deposit capture
• Supervisory or people-leadership experience preferred
• Familiarity with NACHA, Regulation E, BSA/AML, OFAC, and payment controls
• Experience troubleshooting payment exceptions and balancing issues
• Continuous-improvement mindset and cross-functional collaboration
• Strong judgment, communication, and problem solving
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead Payment Operations across channels; oversee processing, exception management, balancing, controls, and operational issue resolution
• Leadership & Development of the payments team through hands-on leadership, coaching, training, and feedback
• Strengthen Risk & Compliance by maintaining operational controls and ensuring payment processes meet regulations and network rules
• Shape the Future of Payments by partnering with internal and external teams to improve workflows, test new capabilities, and drive rollout
