Job summary

Echo Power Engineering, Llc is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to contribute to physical substation design for projects from 12.5kV to 500kV. You will work independently on design tasks and collaborate with civil, structural, protection & control and project teams, with guidance from senior engineers.

The role supports both utility clients and fast-track data centers, with remote work and field involvement, and up to 25% travel. A BSEE is required; EIT/PE is a plus.

Qualifications

• . Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
• . 3+ years of experience in substation or power system design.
• . Familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and related standards.
• . Working knowledge of physical substation design and G&T equipment, including medium-voltage campus distribution switchgear.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute physical substation projects from 12.5kV to 500kV.
• Develop and review physical design drawings (layouts, grounding, conduit, BOMs).
• Perform engineering calculations (bus sizing, loading, conductor sizing).
• Prepare technical specifications and equipment documentation with oversight.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, protection & control, and project teams.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input.
• Share knowledge with junior staff and seek senior guidance.
• Conduct site visits and field inspections.
• Provide engineering support during construction and resolve field issues on fast-track timelines.
