Job summary

Echo Power Engineering, Llc is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead physical substation design for projects from 12.5kV to 500kV. This hybrid role combines remote work with field involvement and up to 25% travel to job sites, with candidates residing near an airport.

You will collaborate with civil, structural, protection & control teams, mentor junior engineers, review drawings and specs, and provide field support from concept through construction on utility, data center, and industrial

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 7+ years of experience in substation or power system design is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Strong knowledge of physical substation design and G&T equipment is expected.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Familiarity with NEC/NESC/IEEE/ANSI standards is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead physical substation design for projects from 12.5kV to 500kV.
• Develop and review physical design drawings (layouts, grounding, conduit, BOM).
• Perform and review engineering calculations (bus sizing, loading, conductor sizing).
• Prepare and review technical specifications and equipment documentation.
• Coordinate design activities with civil/structural/protection & control teams.
• Lead design reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Conduct site visits and field inspections; support construction.
