Job summary

TEAM, Inc. is seeking a Heat-Treating Technician – Electrical Resistance to perform PWHT using electrical resistance methods in field and shop environments.

You will prepare, apply, monitor, and document heat cycles on piping, vessels, and weldments, with opportunities to work with induction or combustion methods. The role requires 2–5 years ERHT experience, ability to read weld procedures and codes, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of hands-on ERHT experience in industrial environments.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and background check.
• Must obtain TWIC/DISA or other site access credentials.
• Strong knowledge of ceramic heating pads, controller programming, thermocouples, and insulation layout.
• Familiarity with weld joint preparation and applicable codes (ASME, API).
• Willingness to travel and work extended shifts, weekends, and varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform setup, operation, and breakdown of electrical resistance heating systems.
• Execute PWHT and preheat activities per procedures and codes.
• Lay out, install heat treating blankets, insulation, and thermocouples.
• Program, monitor, and record temperature cycles with control units.
• Interpret weld procedures, stress relief specs, and heat treat drawings.
• Troubleshoot equipment, wiring, and temperature control issues on-site.
• Provide on-site coordination with welders, inspectors, and client reps.
• Maintain accurate heat cycle records for QA/QC and reporting.
