Job summary

ABB Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a seasoned proposals professional to support the Automation Energy Industries team.

You will act as a key technical resource, crafting detailed techno-commercial proposals for complex electrical projects and determining costs for MV/LV switchgear, e-house modular substations, and related systems. You will prepare technical descriptions, perform cost estimation, and develop winning pricing strategies while collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred.
Minimum 8+ years of experience with bids and proposals on system integration offerings.
Minimum 4+ years of technical and product knowledge in electrical infrastructure.
Experience with MV/LV switchgear, power distribution systems, and e-house/modular substation design.
Experience with contract/risk management and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive techno-commercial proposals for complex electrical infrastructure projects.
Prepare technical and commercial proposals for electrical integration projects.
Develop integrated solutions including MV/LV switchgear, capacitor banks, busduct, VSD, HVAC, and e-houses.
Support conceptual and preliminary design of electrical and automation buildings.
Perform detailed cost estimation and pricing for equipment, building, and integration costs.
Develop competitive pricing strategies aligned with margins and market conditions.
Engage with suppliers for RFQs, technical alignment, and pricing.
Evaluate supplier quotations and terms & conditions; maintain standard templates and tools.
