Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking a Project Engineer II to serve as the technical source of information on construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders. You will respond to questions, coordinate with owners, designers, and subcontractors, and may assist in supervising Field Engineers.

The role advances through steps I, II, and Senior, with Step II targeting candidates with 3 years of relevant experience or working on larger projects.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and standards.
• Degree plus 3–4 years of similar construction engineering experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to supervise Field Engineer positions.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of PMP components and change management.
• Develops procurement schedule and integrates with CPM schedule; coordinates submittals.
• Manages prime contract, subcontracts, and purchase orders; budgets and cost control.
• Maintains As-built documents; compiles close-out requirements with manuals and warranties.
• Participates in concrete form design and takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utilities.
• Plans, develops, and supervises project team members for relentless execution.
• Prepares quantity reporting, meeting minutes, and project logs.
• Prepares and reviews change orders; maintains change order log and budget adjustments.
• Prevents and mitigates potential claims; addresses any claims promptly.
