Job summary

Sundt Construction, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer who will serve as the technical source of information for the project, with thorough knowledge of construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders. The role responds to questions about drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders.

It may assist in supervising Field Engineers to support project success. Three-step progression (I, II, Senior) provides growth through increasing responsibility and technical depth.

Qualifications

• Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical training.
• Minimum of three to four years of construction engineering experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to supervise Field Engineer positions.

Responsibilities

• Understand PMP components and change management processes.
• Develop procurement schedule integrated with CPM schedule; coordinate submittals.
• Administer budgets and cost control to meet approved budgets; demonstrate business acumen.
• Maintain as-built contract documents and close-out requirements.
• Participate in takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utilities as needed.
• Plan and supervise project team members to ensure relentless execution.
• Prepare and maintain quantity reporting mechanisms and meeting minutes.
• Prepare and review change orders and log; distribute documentation to field personnel.
• Identify and mitigate potential claims to avoid or resolve issues promptly.
