Job summary

Dow is seeking an Electrical Production Engineer for Dow Sabine Operations in Orange, TX. You will optimize, troubleshoot, and design electrical equipment to ensure safe, environmentally sound, reliable, and profitable operations.

You will work with operations, maintenance and project teams to develop scope and specifications for motors, breakers, relays, generators and substations (480V–138kV). Monitor performance and lead projects to improve reliability and capability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience.
• Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems including switch gear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, UPS, DC systems.
• Maintain contact with operations, maintenance, engineering, and project development to identify and implement repairs and reliability improvements.
• Develop initial scope, design, and specifications for motors, breakers, relays, generators, substations, buses, starters, transformers, and other industrial electrical equipment (480V to 138kV).
• Monitor system performance, load flow, and anomalies; develop improvement recommendations for reliability and capability.
• Provide technical support for large, medium voltage generators, excitation and protection systems.
• Assist in developing maintenance scopes and planning for major generator turn-arounds; provide technical support for electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Initiate and implement small projects to improve reliability; coordinate larger projects for new or replacement equipment.
• Oversee commissioning, startup assistance, and support of electrical systems with maintenance personnel.
• Serve as an electrical technology expert liaison between project engineers, plant maintenance, and operations personnel.
• Supports and interfaces with business teams to maintain and improve electrical reliability while reducing maintenance costs.
