Job summary

Dow in Orange, TX is seeking an Electrical Production Engineer to optimize and design electrical systems from 480V to 138kV, ensuring safe, reliable and environmentally sound operations. You will work with operations, maintenance and engineering to troubleshoot and implement improvements.

The role emphasizes reliability, cost reductions, and support for generator turn-arounds; a strong background in electrical engineering and system studies is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• U.S. work authorization; no Visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Cover low-, medium-, and high-voltage systems including switch gear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, UPS, DC systems.
• Coordinate repairs and reliability improvements with operations, maintenance, and engineering.
• Develop scope, design, and specs for industrial electrical systems (480V–138kV).
• Monitor performance, load flow, and anomalies; propose reliability improvements.
• Provide technical support for large MV generators and protection systems.
• Assist in maintenance scopes and planning for generator turn-arounds.
• Initiate and manage small projects to improve electrical reliability; coordinate larger projects.
• Oversee commissioning, startup, and support of electrical systems with maintenance personnel.
• Serve as electrical technology liaison between project engineers, maintenance, and operations.
• Support business teams to improve electrical reliability while reducing costs.
• Provide technical guidance on troubleshooting and evaluating equipment service conditions.
