Job summary

Dow Sabine Operations in Orange, TX is seeking an Electrical Production Engineer to optimize, troubleshoot, and design electrical systems (480V to 138kV) while ensuring safe, reliable, and environmentally sound operations.

You will partner with operations, maintenance, and project teams to develop scopes, oversee commissioning, and support generators and protection systems in a demanding industrial setting.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent coverage for low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems (switchgear, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, UPS, DC systems).
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and project development to identify and implement repairs and reliability improvements.
• Develop initial scope, design, and specifications for motors, breakers, relays, generators, substations, and transformers (480V to 138kV).
• Monitor system performance, load flow, and anomalies; propose improvements for reliability and capability.
• Support large MV generators, excitation and protection systems.
• Coordinate maintenance scopes and planning for major generator turn-arounds; support repairs.
• Oversee commissioning, startup, and support of electrical systems with maintenance personnel.
• Serve as electrical technology expert liaison between project engineers, plant maintenance, and operations.
• Support business teams to improve electrical reliability while reducing costs.
