Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Product Design Electrical Engineer for the EPS team to design and develop high‑reliability electrical power distribution equipment for AWS data centers, including switchgear, transformers, busduct, generators, and related infrastructure.

The role involves collaboration with internal and external teams worldwide, travel up to 30%, and a focus on safety, uptime, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities experience
• Experience in commissioning and data center power equipment
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment

Responsibilities

• Solicit customer input and define design requirements for product design with internal teams.
• Lead new product design, development and qualification of critical electrical power distribution equipment for AWS data centers.
• Develop Capex and Opex budgets accounting for development costs, prototyping, testing, tooling.
• Coordinate with global suppliers to specify equipment and ensure supply chain resiliency.
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC and codes across countries through testing.
• Validate design through prototype, pre-production and first-of-kind builds; perform DFx and VE analysis.
• Collaborate with field engineering and commissioning teams to test and validate installation and performance.
• Provide manufacturing support for new products across multiple locations.
• Lead within product development and cross-functional teams.
