Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is hiring a Product Design Electrical Engineer for the Electrical Products and Services (EPS) team to design and develop electrical power distribution products for AWS data centers globally.

You will drive design improvements, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple countries while aiming for uptime, scalability, and cost efficiency. This role involves international travel and collaboration with internal and external teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities such as data centers.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in commissioning of complex electrical infrastructure.
• Experience researching new designs and construction methods for data center equipment.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and international partners.

Responsibilities

• Solicit customer input and define design requirements for product design.
• Lead new product design and qualification of critical electrical power distribution equipment for AWS data centers.
• Develop Capex and Opex budgets for development costs, prototyping, testing and tooling.
• Coordinate with global suppliers and manufacturers to ensure supply chain resiliency.
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC and regulations across countries through testing.
• Validate designs through prototype, pre-production, and first-of-kind builds with DFx and VE.
• Collaborate with field engineering and commissioning teams to test and validate installations.
• Support manufacturing activities on concurrent projects across locations.
• Lead the product development team and align internal/external teams around goals.
