Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Product Design Electrical Engineer for the EPS team to design, develop, and improve electrical power distribution products used across AWS data centers.

You will work on medium voltage switchgear/transformers, low voltage switchgear, generators, busduct, transfer switches, and other critical infrastructure, ensuring high uptime and cost efficiency. As part of a global engineering team, you will collaborate with internal and external groups, lead design

Responsibilities

• Solicit customer input and define design requirements for product design.
• Lead new product design, development and qualification of critical electrical power distribution equipment for AWS data centers.
• Develop Capex and Opex budgets considering development costs, prototyping, testing, and tooling.
• Coordinate with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify equipment and components, ensuring supply chain resiliency.
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC and federal, state, municipal requirements across countries through testing.
• Validate design through prototype, pre-production and first-of-kind builds and perform DFx and value engineering analyses.
