Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring a Product Design Electrical Engineer for the EPS team to design and improve electrical power distribution products used across our global data center footprint. You will work on medium voltage switchgear, transformers, busduct, generators, and other critical infrastructure, aiming for uptime, reliability, and cost efficiency.

The role involves collaborating with internal partner teams and external suppliers, leading design validation, and ensuring compliance

Qualifications

4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities.
Experience in data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities.
Experience researching new designs and construction methods for data center equipment.

Responsibilities

Solicit customer input and define design requirements for product design.
Lead new product design and qualification of critical electrical power equipment for AWS data centers.
Develop Capex and Opex budgets including vendor costs and prototyping.
Coordinate with global suppliers to ensure supply chain resiliency.
Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC, and regulatory codes across countries.
Validate designs through prototypes and DFx/value engineering analyses.
Collaborate with field engineering to test and validate installations and performance.
Provide support for manufacturing on concurrent projects across locations.
Provide leadership within the product development and cross-functional teams.
