Job summary

Jacobs’ Advanced Manufacturing group is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager - Electrical to bridge engineering design and construction for major industrial projects. This role involves coordinating with internal teams and contractors to develop comprehensive bid packages and ensure constructability and sequencing are optimized.

The position supports data center projects across the United States, with up to 50% travel and opportunities near Jacobs U.S. offices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in Electrical engineering or 15 years in construction management for industrial projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience with certified technical training.
• General understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead resolving in-progress design and constructability concerns and provide guidance on engineering drawings.
• Identify opportunities for schedule and cost savings based on existing design or potential modularization.
• Identify trade partners to be involved in early contractor engagement during design phase.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of electrical scope for construction sequencing.
• Identify risks for long lead construction activities related to site restrictions or fabrication timelines and align with design and construction schedule.
• Develop and review construction bid packages for contractor award and ensure complete scope.
• Coordinate across stakeholders for full construction work breakdown structure development and comprehension of scope.
• Review Vendor Data Requirement submittals for constructability and impacts to issued packages.
