Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a hands-on Preconstruction Manager - Electrical for its Advanced Manufacturing group. The role bridges engineering design and construction on major industrial projects, coordinating with internal teams and contractors to create comprehensive bid packages and ensure constructability.

The successful candidate will lead design reviews, identify cost-saving opportunities, and manage risks across multi-site programs with up to 50% travel, based in the U.S. office network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience.
• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience or 15+ years in construction management for industrial projects.
• Ability to interpret electrical design drawings and specs for construction.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to resolve design and constructability issues.
• Identify schedule and cost savings opportunities in existing designs.
• Engage trade partners early in design phase through contractor involvement.
• Assess electrical scope for sequencing and build-out feasibility.
• Identify risks in long-lead construction related to site constraints or fabrication timelines.
• Develop and review construction bid packages with design teams.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary work breakdowns to cover complete scope.
• Review Vendor Data Requirements submittals for constructability impacts.
