Job summary

Jacobs is hiring a Preconstruction Manager - Electrical to bridge engineering design and construction for large industrial projects. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and contractors to develop complete bid packages and ensure constructability and sequencing are optimized.

The ideal candidate will have extensive electrical engineering or construction management experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel up to 50% to support multiple sites across the US.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience in Electrical engineering or 15+ years in industrial construction management.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, including certified technical training.
• General understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting electrical engineering design drawings and specifications for construction purposes.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in resolving design and constructability concerns related to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Identify opportunities for schedule and cost savings based on existing design.
• Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement during design phase.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of electrical scope for construction sequencing.
• Identify long lead construction risks and align with design and construction schedules.
• Develop and review construction bid packages based on design for contractor award.
• Coordinate across stakeholders for full construction work breakdown structure development.
• Review Vendor Data Requirement submittals for constructability and impacts to packages.
