Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a hands-on Preconstruction Manager - Electrical to bridge engineering design and construction on major industrial and data center projects across the U.S. with up to 50% travel.

The role supports the Advanced Manufacturing group, coordinating with internal teams and contractors to develop bid packages and ensure constructability. The position requires a Bachelor’s in engineering or equivalent, 8+ years in electrical engineering or 15+ years in construction mgmt, and strong

Qualifications

• 8 years minimum in Electrical engineering or 15 years in industrial construction mgmt.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience.
• Understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting electrical drawings for construction use.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and resolve design and constructability issues related to drawings and specs.
• Identify schedule and cost savings based on design or modularization ideas.
• Engage trade partners early in design phase for contractor input.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of electrical scope for sequencing.
• Identify risks for long-lead activities and align with schedules.
• Develop and review bid packages for contractor award.
• Coordinate WBS with stakeholders to cover full scope.
• Review VDR submissions for constructability impacts.
