Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to join our growing team in the United States. You will design, analyze, and upgrade medium- and low-voltage power distribution and generation systems for industrial energy clients, guiding projects from concept through commissioning.

You will lead electrical work on mid to large projects, develop protection settings, and mentor engineers and designers while collaborating with clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree required.
• Minimum 3 years of electrical power systems experience in industrial, utility, or consulting.
• Experience designing or modifying medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems.
• Hands-on modeling and study experience in SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower with field data.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards for industrial power systems.
• Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams and relay schemes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical scope on moderate to large projects, including scope definition and scheduling.
• Perform power system analyses and studies (load flow, short circuit, coordination).
• Design and document electrical systems, protection, metering, and wiring diagrams.
• Support procurement, testing, commissioning, and field verification.
• Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors; provide technical reviews and mentorship.
