Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to join our team in a hybrid/remote role. You will design, analyze, and upgrade medium- and low-voltage power systems for industrial clients from concept to commissioning.

Responsibilities include modeling, protection coordination, grounding design, equipment sizing, and field support. You will mentor junior staff and interact with clients to deliver compliant, safe electrical designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 3+ years of electrical power systems experience in industrial, utility, or consulting environments.
• Experience designing/modifying MV (1 kV–38 kV) and LV power distribution.
• Hands-on modeling in SKM PowerTools/ETAP/EasyPower from field data.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards for industrial power systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical scope on moderate to large projects with scope, schedule, and budget input.
• Build and review power system models, load flow, short-circuit, and protection studies.
• Design grounding, protection schemes, and coordination for feeders, transformers, generators.
• Develop and review electrical design deliverables and equipment specifications.
• Provide field support during construction, testing, and commissioning.
