Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to join our growing team in the United States. You will design, analyze, and upgrade medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems for industrial energy clients, leading projects from concept through commissioning.

As the electrical lead on medium to large projects, you will mentor junior engineers, set technical direction, interface with clients and vendors, and ensure designs meet NEC and IEEE standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 3+ years of electrical power systems engineering experience in industrial, utility, or consulting environments.
• Experience designing/modifying MV (1 kV–38 kV) and LV power distribution systems.

Responsibilities

• Power System Analysis and Studies: build power system models, run load flow and short-circuit studies, arc flash, and cable ampacity.
• Design and Documentation: create and review diagrams, schematics, wiring and interconnection diagrams, and plans.
• Equipment Specification and Procurement: write specs, evaluate vendor proposals, review submittals, support testing and commissioning.
• Field and Construction Support: perform site surveys, RFIs, site visits, and confirm installation aligns with design.
• Project and Technical Leadership: lead electrical scope on projects, coordinate with disciplines, mentor staff, and interface with clients.
