Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting seeks an Electrical Power Engineer to design, analyze, and upgrade medium- and low-voltage power systems for industrial clients. You’ll lead electrical scope on projects, develop protective relay settings, and coordinate with multiple disciplines while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 3 years of electrical power systems engineering experience in an industrial, utility, or consulting environment.
• Demonstrated experience designing or modifying medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems.
• Hands-on modeling and study experience in SKM Power*Tools, ETAP, EasyPower, or equivalent — including building models from field data and interpreting results.
• Working knowledge of the NEC, NFPA 70E, and IEEE standards for industrial power systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain power system models from field data and studies including load flow, short-circuit, coordination, and arc flash analyses.
• Design and review electrical design deliverables such as diagrams, schematics, and interconnection diagrams.
• Develop specifications and procure equipment, evaluate vendor submittals, and support testing and commissioning.
• Conduct field investigations and support construction through RFIs and site visits.
• Lead the electrical scope on projects and mentor junior engineers and designers.
