Job summary

Comfort Systems USA in Texas is seeking an experienced Foreman Electrician to oversee a crew of Journeyman, Apprentices and Helpers on commercial and industrial sites. You will lead, mentor and evaluate performance while ensuring installation, alteration and repair work meets NEC and local codes.

You will read blueprints and project specs, develop material lists, and coordinate with supervision to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial environments.
• Proven leadership abilities; able to lead, mentor and coach teams of roughly five Helpers, Apprentices and Journeyman electricians.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and project documents.
• Ability to communicate with other trades and coordinate with trade supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Journeyman, Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
• Ensure quality of work to the highest standards.
• Develop manpower schedules for the team.
• Develop material lists from layouts, area prints, and job site demands and communicate lists to supervision.
• Help achieve production and budget goals by understanding what needs to be done and communicating that effectively to the team.
• Ensure all work done by crew complies with local NEC guidelines.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit; install and terminate devices and conductors.
• Read project specifications, blueprints, and schematics; lay out work from drawings including underground layouts.
• Determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing; perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and power circuits.
