Qualifications

• Experience estimating electrical construction work for an electrical contractor, EPC, or similar organization.
• Experience evaluating and estimating work on existing facilities with incomplete documentation.
• Knowledge of cost estimating best practices, methodologies, and estimating software tools.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs, labor modeling, productivity analysis, vendor quote evaluation, and contingency development.
• Clear communication of estimate assumptions, exclusions, risks and recommendations to technical and commercial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering docs, BOMs, and specs to develop estimates for solar and BESS repowering, restoration, and retrofit projects.
• Develop detailed bottoms-up cost estimates for labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, rentals, mobilization, and other costs.
• Review as-built docs and perform quantity takeoffs for restoration and brownfield upgrades.
• Perform electrical takeoffs from design packages and field data.
• Develop estimate assumptions, exclusions, allowances, escalation factors, and contingency strategies.
• Partner with project teams to validate scope and identify risks before proposals.
• Maintain and develop material, equipment, labor, and productivity databases with procurement/execution teams.
• Evaluate vendor/subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive cost models.
• Conduct site visits and collaborate with SMEs to assess existing conditions and costs.
• Lead integration of actual costs and lessons learned into estimating methodologies.
• Support proposal development, customer discussions, and internal estimate reviews.
