Job summary

DEPCOM Power, part of Koch Engineered Solutions, seeks an experienced Electrical Estimator for repowering and restoration of utility-scale solar and BESS projects. You will develop detailed cost estimates, review design packages, and support competitive proposals.

Ideal candidates have strong electrical estimating backgrounds in EPC or renewable energy, proficiency with estimating software such as InEight, and the ability to manage risk and drive cost accuracy across complex retrofit projects.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating electrical construction for contractors, EPCs, or renewables.
• Ability to estimate work on existing facilities with incomplete docs.
• Knowledge of cost estimating best practices and tools.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs, labor modeling, productivity analysis, vendor quotes.
• Clear communication of estimate assumptions, risks, and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, BOMs, and specs to estimate solar and BESS projects.
• Develop detailed bottoms-up costs for labor, equipment, materials, subs, rentals, mobilization.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from engineering packages and field docs.
• Develop estimate assumptions, exclusions, allowances, and escalation factors.
• Collaborate with project teams to validate scope and identify risks before proposals.
• Maintain cost databases with procurement and execution teams.
• Evaluate vendor pricing to ensure competitive cost models.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and refine estimates.
• Lead integration of actual costs and lessons learned into methods.
