Job summary

DEPCOM Power is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator - Repowering & Restoration to support growth in our solar and energy storage projects. You will develop accurate, bottoms-up estimates for retrofit, repowering, restoration, and brownfield upgrades across utility-scale facilities.

The ideal candidate brings strong electrical construction estimating experience in EPC or contractor environments, uses industry-standard tools, conducts quantity takeoffs, and collaborates with engineering,

Qualifications

• Experience estimating electrical construction for contractors/EPCs.
• Experience estimating work on existing facilities with incomplete docs.
• Knowledge of estimating best practices, methodologies, and software tools.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs, labor modeling, productivity analysis, vendor quote evaluation, and contingencies.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering docs, designs, BOMs, and specs to develop accurate estimates for solar and BESS repowering/restoration projects.
• Develop bottoms-up cost estimates for labor, equipment, materials, subs, rentals, mobilization, and other costs.
• Review as-built docs and perform quantity takeoffs for restoration/brownfield upgrades.
• Take electrical takeoffs from design packages and field docs.
• Develop estimate assumptions, exclusions, allowances, escalation factors, and contingencies to manage risk.
• Collaborate with project development, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to validate scope and risks before proposals.
• Maintain material, equipment, labor, and productivity databases with procurement/execution teams.
• Evaluate vendor/subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive cost models.
• Conduct site visits with SMEs to assess conditions and refine scopes and costs.
• Integrate actual project costs and lessons learned to improve estimating accuracy and proposal quality.
