Job summary

DEPCOM Power, part of Koch Engineered Solutions, seeks an experienced Electrical Estimator for repowering and restoration of utility-scale solar and BESS projects. You will develop detailed, bottoms-up estimates for retrofit, upgrade, and brownfield work while coordinating with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.

The role supports proposals, reviews design packages, and conducts site visits. Based in Pleasanton, CA (or nearby), with remote consideration and about 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating electrical construction for EPC or contractor environments.
• Experience estimating work on existing facilities with incomplete/unknown documentation.
• Knowledge of cost estimating best practices and estimating software tools.
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs, labor modeling, productivity analysis, vendor quote evaluation, and contingency development.
• Strong ability to communicate estimate assumptions, risks, and recommendations to technical/commercial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review engineering docs, BOMs, and specs to develop accurate estimates for solar and BESS repowering/restoration projects.
• Develop detailed bottoms-up cost estimates for labor, equipment, materials, subcontractors, rentals, mobilization, and other project costs.
• Review as-built docs and perform quantity takeoffs for restoration and brownfield upgrades.
• Perform electrical takeoffs from engineering designs and site data.
• Develop estimate assumptions, exclusions, allowances, escalation factors, and contingency strategies.
