Job summary

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services, seeks an Electrical Engineering Intern to join a project team supporting substation design, engineering and field work under supervision. You will assist with wiring diagrams, bills of materials, load flow studies, and NEC/NESC standards while gaining hands-on experience at job sites.

The role requires pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and offers exposure to high‑voltage infrastructure, field training, and professional

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals.
• Basic knowledge of three phase power systems.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated communication skills, both verbally and written.
• Knowledge of common word processing, spreadsheet, and e‑mail software.

Responsibilities

• Work with project team to prepare design documents and drawings for a project, including wiring diagrams and bills of materials.
• Perform engineering support tasks such as relay burden, lighting, load flow, and short circuit calculations.
• Learn and apply engineering software for ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, and load flow studies.
• Complete tasks to meet project schedule requirements.
• Learn and apply NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Spend time at job sites to gain hands-on knowledge and training in substation construction and design.
• Take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of work.
• Identify project-related problems and propose solutions to the appropriate party.
