Job summary

Burns & McDonnell seeks an Engineering Intern in Chattanooga to support electrical engineering teams with standard design tasks, data entry, and documentation. The role involves assisting lead engineers, preparing presentations, and contributing to project work across Transmission & Distribution.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, with ABET accreditation preferred, a minimum 3.0 GPA, and involvement in campus or community activities.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or related experience is a plus.
• Active involvement in campus, community, or volunteer activities is desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and Power Point presentation.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns and research project issues.
• Assist lead engineers with project duties and ad hoc tasks.
• Maintain compliance with all policies and standards.
