Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an Engineering Intern to assist with design tasks, data entry, and project support across market segments. You will help prepare documents, presentations, and respond to general inquiries under supervision.

A strong engineering foundation and active campus involvement are valued. The role offers hands-on experience in transmission and distribution projects with opportunities to learn from lead engineers and participate in continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active involvement in campus or community activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated learner with aptitude to grow in the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns and research project issues.
• Support ad hoc tasks as assigned by managers.
