Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Morristown, NJ, to support design tasks and assist lead engineers on multiple projects. You will perform entry-level engineering work, prepare documentation, and help with data analysis across market segments.

The role requires pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, ABET preferred, and strong communication and analytical skills. Interns benefit from a 401(k) plan and structured development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized, accredited program required.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tasks that may include filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and Power Point presentation.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
