Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Houston is seeking an Engineering Intern to support lead engineers with standard design updates and project duties across Power, Oil & Gas, and Transmission & Distribution. You will apply engineering techniques, assist with data collection and presentations, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Applicants should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET preferred), maintain a 3.0 GPA, and be legally eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled in post-secondary education relevant to the role.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or consulting experience is a plus.
• Active involvement in campus or community activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow.
• Legal authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions and project inquiries.
• Participate in data collection and continuous improvement efforts.
• Present solutions to project concerns and improve processes.
• Research solutions to project issues and recommend actions.
• Support ad hoc projects assigned by managers.
• Maintain minimum 3.0 GPA and involvement in campus activities.
• Ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Perform other duties as needed.
