Job summary

Burns & McDonnell seeks an Engineering Intern in Chicago, IL to support engineers with standard design tasks, updating designs, data entry, and documentation across several market sectors.

Qualified students are pursuing a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (ABET preferred), currently enrolled with a 3.0 GPA or higher, and possess strong communication and analytical skills. This is a full-time, on-site internship with hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from a recognized, accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department.
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies and standards.
