Job summary

Burns & McDonnell's Power global practice is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer in the Houston area to contribute to the design of power generation facilities, decarbonization projects, and energy storage systems.

You will work on project teams from concept through construction, applying industry codes and client requirements, reviewing drawings, and supporting site inspections and commissioning to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) or related degree with 3 years of electrical engineering experience.
• FE exam completion and 3 years of electrical engineering experience preferred.
• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 years of experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings.
• Design electrical components per project requirements.
• Apply electrical engineering concepts, codes, and procedures.
• Research and compile project data for managers.
• Use design software tools to perform calculations and layouts.
• Prepare information for client presentations and contract reviews.
• Conduct field measurements and calculations in support of projects.
• Serve as field engineer on construction sites.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
