Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead MV/LV electrical systems for nuclear fuel manufacturing facilities, setting standards and directing design work. You will collaborate with I&C, mechanical, and safety teams, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with vendors and regulators to deliver safe, reliable power infrastructure on site in Utah.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or higher.
  • 8+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience leading MV/LV design programs.
  • Advanced proficiency in power system analysis software (SKM/ETAP) covering load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash, and motor starting.
  • Proven ability to lead substation design from concept through detailed engineering.
  • Deep knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, CSA, and IEC electrical standards for industrial and process facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver MV/LV electrical system designs for nuclear fuel manufacturing facilities.
  • Lead substation and protection design; manage vendor programs and engage with clients and regulators.
  • Coordinate with I&C, mechanical, and safety teams; mentor junior engineers and oversee design reviews and audits.
  • Prepare specifications, evaluate bids, witness factory acceptance tests, and manage documentation.
  • Lead vendor pre-qualification, technical Bid evaluation, and supplier audits; ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
