Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Candidates fluent in written and spoken English required
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required
• 5+ years' Electrical design experience is required
• Understanding of IBC and Accessibility Codes
• Working knowledge of electrical building systems
• Basic knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines
• Self-motivated personality with the ability to work collaboratively and independently as appropriate in studio or remote environment
• Ability to effectively meet deadlines
• Ability to work as a collaborative member of a multi-disciplinary design team
• Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas both in person and in writing
• Proficiency in REVIT
• P.E. or on track for attaining P.E. (EIT preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excell
• Industrial, Aerospace, Airport, and Laboratory experience is preferred
• Federal design experience is preferred
• Experience in lighting design is preferred
• Experience in lightning protection, security, and fire alarm system design is preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings and specifications detailing the Electrical System designed
• Prepare inspection and design reports and presentation materials
• Support studio culture through mentoring, design development and other in-person activities.
• Participate in internal and external meetings and document discussions
• Perform routine tasks under general supervision using well-defined standards, procedures, and codes
• Travel to project sites or client offices as needed to meet contract requirements.
• Represents Jacobs, with internal and external personnel, on significant matters
• Coordinate design with architects and other engineering disciplines
• Perform product research; assist project designers and project architects with materials selection and system research
