Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support the Federal Buildings Group, focusing on industrial project design in a hybrid Irvine office. You will own electrical design tasks, coordinate with architects and other disciplines, and mentor junior staff.

The role requires a BSEE, 10+ years of experience, and US citizenship. Proficiency in REVIT and strong communication skills are essential for success in a multi-discipline team.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Candidates fluent in written and spoken English required.
• Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required.
• 10+ years' Electrical design experience is required.
• Understanding of IBC and Accessibility Codes.
• Working knowledge of electrical building systems.
• Basic knowledge of sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.
• P.E. or on track for attaining P.E. (EIT preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings and specifications detailing the Electrical System designed.
• Prepare inspection and design reports and presentation materials.
• Support studio culture through mentoring, design development and other in-person activities.
• Participate in internal and external meetings and document discussions.
• Perform routine tasks under general supervision using well-defined standards, procedures, and codes.
• Travel to project sites or client offices as needed to meet contract requirements.
• Represents Jacobs, with internal and external personnel, on significant matters.
• Coordinate design with architects and other engineering disciplines.
• Perform product research; assist project designers and project architects with materials selection and system research.
