Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead coordination, development, and production of electrical design deliverables for federal and industrial projects. The role requires ownership of accuracy, timeliness, and collaboration with a technical team.

The position is within the Federal Buildings Group and involves hybrid work with in-office attendance at least two days per week in Irvine, CA. Strong knowledge of IBC, accessibility, and sustainability is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelors’ Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required.
• 10+ years' Electrical design experience is required.
• Understanding of IBC and Accessibility Codes.
• Working knowledge of electrical building systems.
• Proficiency in REVIT.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings and specifications detailing the Electrical System designed.
• Prepare inspection and design reports and presentation materials.
• Support studio culture through mentoring, design development and other in-person activities.
• Participate in internal and external meetings and document discussions.
• Perform routine tasks under general supervision using well-defined standards, procedures, and codes.
• Travel to project sites or client offices as needed to meet contract requirements.
• Represents Jacobs, with internal and external personnel, on significant matters.
• Coordinate design with architects and other engineering disciplines.
• Perform product research; assist project designers and project architects with materials selection and system research.
