Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead coordination, development, and production of electrical design deliverables within the Federal Buildings Group. The role requires taking ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timely delivery, working with a technical team in a hybrid Irvine office.

The position emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, strong knowledge of IBC codes, and experience with lighting, power, and safety systems.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
• 5+ years electrical design experience required.
• Familiarity with IBC and accessibility codes.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Proficiency in REVIT and MS Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings and specifications detailing the electrical system designed.
• Prepare inspection and design reports and presentation materials.
• Mentor studio peers and support design development activities.
• Attend internal and external meetings and document discussions.
• Perform routine tasks under supervision per standards and codes.
• Travel to project sites or client offices as needed.
• Represent Jacobs with internal and external personnel on significant matters.
• Coordinate design with architects and other engineering disciplines.
• Research products; assist with materials selection and system research.
